Howard Griswold Memorial Sunfish Regatta
July 11th -12th, 2009
The Sunfish regatta was a huge success with 30 boats! Some of the best Sunfish sailors from the North-East and beyond participated with the winner, Steve Manson, qualifying for the 2010 Sunfish World Championships! The Green Ponder with the best overall results was Bob Griswold which was nice considering the regatta is named after his father Howard Griswold. Honorable mention goes to Joe Wright who was neck and neck with Bob Griswold right up until the last race with each sailing their best race scoring 2nd and 1st, respectively. Thanks again to everyone who helped out with this regatta, it couldn't of been done without your help. A special thanks to Bill Engels who took on the wet job of steam cleaning all the off the lake boats in effort to keep our lake clean! CLICK HERE FOR THE RESULTS.

The 2009 GPYC Junior Sailing Program:

The Green Pond Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program is open to children (ages 5-17) of Green Pond, GPYC members and non-members, free of charge.  It is completely funded by the GPYC and donations.

As our program continues to grow each year, we need to keep up with demand by continuing to refurbish our fleet of Sunfish and Optimists and, ideally, add to our fleet.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer with great winds!!!
Meaghan Barger, Program Director
Jack Grossmann, Assistant

Sailing classes will be on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
throughout the summer.

Please refer to the calendar given at registration.
